The Crawley Irish Festival takes place in West Sussex, England, over their bank holiday every August. Festival highlights include live Irish music, dancing demonstrations and competitions, sports, and Irish themed games, folklore, storytelling, and crafts. Here, dancers from the O’Brien School (located in Crawley) perform for the 2012 celebration. Nicely done!
These Irish dancers perform to a bit of edgier music, and it is great. The Rhythm of Ireland School of Irish Dance has locations in Virginia Beach and Yorktown, Virginia. Excellent!
At the 2011 Newport Irish Waterfront Festival (Rhode Island), these Irish dancers from the Nevin Academy performed to the music of two pipers of the AOH Pipe and Drum Band: Michael O’Conner and Liam Geer. The Nevin Academy of Irish Dance has classes in Norwell, Hingham, and Weymouth, Massachusetts, and Newport, Rhode Island. Very nice, ladies! World Champion Claire Greaney performs this beautiful Slip Jig at what is considered to be Ireland’s “Number One Music, Song, and Dance Experience,” Trad on the Prom, in Galway. This is a 2011 performance. Just gorgeous!
The Nora Pickett Irish Dance Academy’s performance troupe, Eire Born Irish Dancers, are at it again! This time they delight us with their version of “No Speak Americano.” Eire Born has performed in New York City, in Switzerland, and even for the Queen. The Nora Picket Irish Dance Academy has locations in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and Richmond, British Columbia. Very nice!
This wonderful rhythm piece was dedicated to the late Ann Richens, ADCRG. It was performed at the 2012 Dublin Irish Fest, in Dublin, Ohio. The Richens/Timm Academy has locations in Dublin and Dayton, Ohio; Indianapolis and Tipton, Indiana; and also in Casper, Wyoming. Brilliant!
“Dancing with Our Local Stars,” was a benefit competition held in Troy, Michigan, in October, 2012. Ardan Academy of Irish Dance instructor Liz Heinzman was one of the professional dancers for the show, and she had the pleasure of dancing with syndicated radio and TV host Michael Patrick Shiels, who is also an author and travel writer. The Ardan Academy has several locations in Michigan, one location in Ohio, and one studio in Canada. This is a lovely performance. Well [...]
Fiesta de Los San Patricios is an event in San Diego, California, that helps raise money for Operation Caregiver, which provides “comfort kits” to US Marines who are stationed around the world in remote places. Here, dancers from the Rose-Ritchie Academy provide entertainment at the Nov. 5, 2011, event. The Rose-Richie Academy of Irish Dance is located in the Rancho Penasquitos area of San Diego. Nicely done!
The Irish Heritage Club of Seattle organizes activities such as Irish dancing to promote the Irish culture in the greater Seattle, Washington, area. Here, the Tara Irish Dance Academy performs for St. Patrick’s Day during the Irish Week Festival at the Seattle Center. Great job, everyone!
